Margembie Labradors was established in 2004. We are a small kennel, focusing on breeding quality, not quantity.
We aim to breed loving, loyal, & true to type Labrador Retrievers for everyone to enjoy. Not only do our lovable Labradors make excellent companions & family dogs, they are also proven gun & assistance dogs. All our dogs are hip & elbow scored, have eye clearance certificates, have full DNA profile & cardiac clearances, & are regularly health checked.

When you choose Margembie Labradors, you're choosing quality, health, and lifelong support

When choosing to adopt a purebred puppy you ensure predictability of their nature and temperament, also their predicted size, weight, lifespan and coat type.
A responsible breeder continually strives to improve their bloodlines, always referring back to the breed standard and choosing a Dam or Sire to complement their line. Ensuring your puppy is as true to type as possible.
A breeder's main aim is to produce healthy happy puppies. They do this through careful selection of breeding stock, and comprehensive health testing of both the sire & dam.
All responsible Labrador breeders screen for known breed conditions. These tests include hip & elbow scores, full DNA profiles, eye clearance certificates and cardiac screening.
Breeders spend countless hours researching and learning about their breed, about their type, temperament & breed characteristics.
Reputable breeders will be there for you throughout your puppy's life and feel a responsibility for every puppy they breed. When you adopt from a registered breeder you are also gaining their invaluable knowledge, lifelong support, and advice throughout your puppy's life, and not just at the time of adoption.
It's extremely hard to predict the temperament of crossbred dogs and they quite often show more problematic behavior than purebreds. Crossbreeding also has the potential to introduce congenital health issues.
When you choose to adopt a pedigree puppy from a registered breeder, you can be confident that they are in fact a purebred dog. As your puppy will come with their own pedigree papers that are registered with the Australian National Kennel Council on either a main or limited register to prove their bloodlines.

We have adopted two beautiful labs from Margembie Labradors. Molly, as a puppy in September 2019, who is now a PTSD Assistance dog with Young Diggers for Emergency Services, and Roxy, we adopted in October 2020, who is a 4yo retired female.
Molly and Roxy are now best friends. Beautiful Roxy who has had 3 litters with Margembie is our newest member to the family. They are very gentle and smart. Thank you Deborah for putting so much effort into breeding beautiful gentle dogs and for letting us bring beautiful Roxy into our home now she is retired.

Kayla is simply adorable and has slotted into our family from day 1. I'm often asked which breeder we got her from and I'm always so proud to share Margembie Labradors. Deborah was nothing but professional and balanced well with caring in the lead up to us picking up Kayla, during lockdown 1.
I couldn't recommend her more and we look forward to Kayla having her doggie holidays in the future back at Margembie boarding!

We bought our beautiful first family dog from Margembie Labradors in 2009. Coco came from one of their first litters and we enjoyed 10 precious years with the sweetest dog in the world. We were devastated when she passed away suddenly, I phoned Deborah to thank her for breeding such an extraordinary dog.
In January 2020 that day came as we picked up Sami and again opened our hearts to another gorgeous Chocolate Lab. Sami has so much personality, hilarious and sweet, just like Coco. Deborah runs a very professional and supportive business and I can't recommend her highly enough.

From the moment Molly was born we received photos & videos from Deborah & were kept informed right up until adoption day. As we lived interstate, Deborah was so helpful in helping us to organise flights & transport for Molly to relocate.
For the past five years Deborah has kept us connected to other members of Molly's family, is always so happy receiving updates on Molly, but most importantly Deborah is there if we need any guidance or help in raising Molly. Molly is one of the best things to have ever come into our lives.

In 2017 we adopted Lola from Deb & Mark. During her time with us our family has had lots of ups & downs, & Lola has bought so much love, joy & empathy into our lives. She is a beautifully natured dog. She loves hard & is so gentle with all other animals & people.
My kids were only 2 & 4 when we adopted Lola, & she has always been so submissive with them. She has stayed with friends dogs of other breeds & fits in with any setting. Deb & Mark have always been so professional, warm & caring. Even years later if I have a question they've been there to help! I would highly recommend adopting from them!
